A recent supertall in one of Miami’s hippest neighborhoods has a $37 million penthouse that looks like it is from the future. Designed by Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott, this 11,500-square-foot two-story unit inside the Echo Brickell building is the most expensive asking price for a condo in the Brickell neighborhood—and that’s after its initial asking price of $47 million when it first hit the market at the end of last summer (the price was reduced to $37 million about a month ago). It has its own private indoor pool, direct access elevator, surrounding views of the downtown and at its current asking price comes furnished with design consultations with Ott to select the final finishes. The other penthouse in the building, a single-story unit measuring about 5,000 square feet, sold for unfinished for $10.25 million. The next priciest condo currently on the market is a $25 million unit at the Four Seasons Residences.

Brickell has tripled its population in the past 20 years and projections suggest this waterfront neighborhood measuring about 20 blocks long will have a population of 109,000 by 2021. Demand for real estate, naturally, has increased dramatically and prime real estate on Brickell Avenue is generally the most expensive in the neighborhood. This 4-bedroom, 8-bathroom unit, with views of downtown Miami, Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean is leading the upward momentum of the market. With that strong push forward, it’s not much of surprise this condo feels cutting edge from every room. Here’s the living room with just one of the custom-designed light fixtures.

The wine storage unit is possibly the most futuristic piece inside the whole unit. The shelves for the bottles are their own piece of contemporary art and the bar subtly ties in to the floating staircase right next door.

The room designed to be the office comes with a wet bar and a more subdued color scheme than the rest of the unit.

The master bedroom, with a pedestal to hold the bed, is in the corner of the unit and has a one-of-a-kind ceiling light display that glimmers along with the city skyline.

The closet has several touches that make it feel like a department store dressing room‚ such as the trey ceiling and spotlights focused on the clothes with soft lighting.

The 26-foot indoor lap pool looks out onto the 8-foot deep terrace.

The building’s monthly HOA fees are $9,495 to cover the cost of the community gym, pool, concierge and maintenance services. All units also come with Apple Home technology.
