One of the most dynamic, energetic, and cultural cities in the world, Hong Kong offers up a spectacular contrast with its famous city skyline surrounded by dramatic green mountains. On my first visit to Hong Kong, I instantly fell in love with its people, its cuisine and its wild markets.

Among the new luxury hotel openings is the beautiful St. Regis Hong Kong which joins a growing list of developments in the city. Located in the vibrant Wan Chai district, the St. Regis Hong Kong assimilates a curated mansion that celebrates cultural diversity and elegance all from the expertise of interior designer André Fu.

A residentially inspired retreat, the 27-story St. Regis offers 129 guest rooms and suites all reflecting the vision of world-renowned interior designer André Fu. The spacious 2,800sf Presidential Suite was designed as an elegant, contemporary Hong Kong private residence, a tribute to the city’s past and present. The elegant interiors of the suite include marble, oak and bronze fittings, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows that look out to city and harbor views. The hotel also includes a heated swimming pool, and a poolside bar as well as a health club with a spa treatment room.

Rosewood

The recently opened Rosewood Hong Kong is the newest luxury hotel on the harbor. The 65-story building is located within Victoria Dockside in Tsim Sha Tsui and showcased an artsy design towering over the renovated Avenue of the Stars. The hotel’s 322 rooms, 92 suites on 43 of the 65 floors, and 18 signature suites are all perfectly designed.  Harbour House will be Rosewood’s Presidential suite on the 57th floor when it is completed later this year. The suite will have its own private pool and garden. There are also four duplexes on top of the tower.

I was fortunate to have met The Rosewood Hotel Group’s millennial CEO Sonia Cheng on a recent trip to Hong Kong, and she has created a fantastic new property. Sonia is a dynamic creative force in the Rosewood world, her late grandfather Dr. Cheng Yu-tung built an empire that made the family one of Asia’s wealthiest. As owners of jewelry chain Chow Tai Fook, the family is worth an estimated US$22.5 billion.
