Over 250 acres for sale in Bel Air

Encore Design Studio

In one of America’s most prestigious zip codes there are 258 acres of untouched land that has just come on the market for $75 million. Called Senderos Canyon, this entire expanse consists of three contiguous un-entitled parcels that represents six percent of all the land in Bel Air and the only other time this much land was for sale all at once was when this property was last acquired. For comparison’s sake, the nearest comp property could be The Park, a Bel Air listing asking $150 million, which is also three contiguous parcels but only totals 10.6 acres.

"It is zoned Equine which opens up the potential for an equestrian country club or riding stables and riding trails. Should the new owner obtain the approvals, it could be used for a championship golf course and fabulous country club. Imagine a cooperative vineyard for exclusive members or a world-class wellness retreat and 5-star hotel," said listing agent Melinda Tamkin who has co-listed the property with Scott Tamkin, both of Compass, who have provided the announcement and conceptual renderings exclusively to Forbes. The agents have declined to comment on the identity of the seller.

According to the agents up to 80 homes can be built on the land, which would create a new luxury enclave between several existing ones. Mulholland Drive borders the land to the north, while Holmby Hills sits to the south of the parcel, which frequently makes the list of America’s most expensive zip codes. It has also been home to celebrities along the likes of Adam Levine, Sonny and Cher, Aaron and Candy Spelling (and their famous Manor, which current owner Petra Eccelstone has listed for $160 million) and Tony Curtis. Not to mention Bel Air itself is home to many famous names, such as Chelsea Handler, Serena Williams, Elon Musk, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston whose former house is now on the market for $56 million.

The steep slopes of the canyon mean it can be an ultra-secluded place to live, albeit a little shorter on the daylight hours since the sun will set early behind the hills. Here’s a photo of what the land looks like now from above.
