Home décor subscription boxes are more than just a little gift to yourself, they’re a shortcut to having professionally curated home accents. Another bonus is that if an item isn’t exactly your taste, someone else will appreciate it as a hostess or housewarming gift in the future. Either way, an artisanal soap or scented candle always looks more thoughtful than another bottle of wine.

Whether you prefer kitschy knickknacks, have a more sophisticated style, or just want to bring more positive energy into your living space, here are the best décor subscription boxes (and a few gift boxes added in for good measure).

Decocrated

Decocrated (pronounced deco-crated) is a really useful box for people who want to change up their decorative accessories every season. The current fall box has a cohesive warm palette with nine items. While these pieces scream fall (there is a letter board that literally reads Fall), many of the items are versatile enough to use all year round. For example, the pumpkin throw pillowcase has a mauve back, so it can be turned around and used after October 31st. The letter board has additional letters to spell out the words home and love. There are a seemingly endless amount of uses for the farmhouse chic wood tray.

These accents are a great way of adding a special pop to shelves, walls, your favorite comfy chair, etc. They’re also Instagramable, perfect for photo opps and flatlays. Overall, Decocrated is the ideal subscription box for people who don’t decorate too seriously, but really see it as more of a fun project.

Mostess

Lindsey Rose founded Mostess because the stress of creating a “Pinterest Perfect” home was really getting to her. “The only solutions I found for sourcing home accessories were either huge overwhelming websites (where you could end up spending hours trying to decide on a simple cake stand) or stuffy brick and mortar boutiques where I felt pressured to buy a product in person. Both experiences left me stressed and irritated,” she says.

Each box contains a generous quantity of items (the current box has fifteen), which are fresh, fun and rather sophisticated. The recipe cards and styling tips are a great bonus.

Mostess is tailor-made for people who like to entertain. For example, the summer box has hand-painted stemless wine glasses, linen napkins and tapas plates, as well as a mortar and pestle. Despite the theme, these items won’t feel out of place during other seasons. This box, in particular, makes a great housewarming gift for someone whose style you may not be familiar with.

Habitation Box

Habitation Box was founded by Kelly Agrey, an interior designer who personally curates each item.

There are two different tiers of boxes to choose from. The smaller box contains three to six items while the larger one has a total of seven to ten. Every month has a different theme such as entertaining, bathroom accessories, and Halloween. Monthly and quarterly options are available.

One thing that sets this box apart is that Agrey places a high value on using artisanal products that are ethically sourced from high quality materials. She also chooses neutral colored items, making it very easy to integrate into any home’s current décor scheme.

Hygge Box

Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) is the Danish word for the feeling of coziness, comfort and appreciation. It’s been a major trend in recent years.

Hygge Box is a monthly box with several subscription options. The standard box features four to five seasonal items. While it doesn’t contain any game changing décor, it stays true to the hygge lifestyle with little things to enjoy and appreciate. This includes fairy lights and candles as well as sweets like biscuits and hot cocoa. The vibe of the box isn’t so much entertaining as it is appreciating a night at home with a good book or watching a movie.

Next By Nest Fragrances

Nest has two different subscription box programs with three and six-month durations. This is the ultimate gift for anyone who is obsessed with home fragrances. The Winning Combination box contains a large and small candle. The Perfect Combination has a large candle and a reed diffuser.

Every box features two different scents, a Nest classic scent and an “of the moment” fragrance like Pumpkin Chai.

Teak And Twine

Teak and Twine has a variety of influencer-curated gift boxes from names including Jenna Kutcher, Emily Blanchard, Ashlyn Carter, Abby Capalbo, and Katherine Corden.

The influencer boxes are filled with décor and lifestyle items that are beautifully designed to elevate any space. Everything is as meaningful as it is Instagramable. For example, Kutcher’s box has a contemporary bud vase, candle, mug, coasters, and soap among other things. Abby Capalbo’s box features chic champagne flutes, Sugarfina gummies, a stylish ring dish, soap, and candle.

The Urban + The Mystic

The Urban + The Mystic isn’t a subscription box, but rather a line of crystal-centered gift boxes that promote positive energy. There are meaningful choices for every life event and occasion from moving into a new home to having a child, bereavement and more.

Everything is sent in a keepsake oak box, which can be customized with a name, monogram or meaningful message.

Each box is a bit different, but they all have at least one specific crystal depending on the intention of the gift. Candles, palo santo, incense, and other decorative accessories round out each box. Even better, instructions are included for those unfamiliar with the power of crystals.
