Most pricey pads come with waterfront access, but they don’t usually come with their own private peninsula. Not so for the home that just entered the top of the market for Tampa Bay. This six-bedroom, seven-bathroom house sits on 200 acres of private land at the very end of a secluded peninsula, with a few small islands thrown in with the deal. If the house were to sell for its $17.999 million asking price, it would beat the most expensive sale on record for the area by about $6.8 million. The current record holder is a 23,799-square-foot home in Clearwater that sold for $11.18 million in 2018. That home went back on the market just a few months after it had sold, briefly asking its own market-topping price of $19.75 million, but has since had the ask lowered to $15.9 million.

For this house, dubbed the “Victory Mansion” by owner/developer Nasr “Vic” Abuoleim, it is all about the ceilings. Nearly every main room and bedroom has intricate one-of-a-kind details to draw your eye up and act as its own statement piece. Note the intense gold of the photo above and the herringbone pattern in the kitchen ceiling below.

The ceiling in the study is not just coffered, trey or carved but all three. Each square of the coffered grid, set back against the perimeter of the trey ceiling, has an ornate carved inner core that complements the molding where it meets the ceiling’s edge. The walls of built-in bookshelves match the wood tones and dark stained floor.

In addition to unique ceilings, several parts of the house have a slight touch of Middle Eastern design themes, such as the entrance to the living room that has the profile of a minaret. See also the hand-painted ceiling set inside a star with the design of a night sky.

To give you a sense of the home’s privacy, here’s the backyard pool and the unobstructed views it has over the Bay.

The home also comes with a basketball court, tennis court, attached and detached garages, indoor gym with pool bath, covered grill area, a boat dock with lift and hurricane impact windows and doors.
