These most-searched homes from April are all still for sale.

It’s house-hunting 101 to know what you’re looking for—but it doesn’t hurt to know what other people are looking for, too. We put together a list of some of our most-searched in April to showcase what’s piquing home buyers’ interest right now.

And it’s not only about what homes they’re searching, but where those homes are located. The neighborhood surrounding a home matters, so we’ve included a guide to each listing’s community with a little help from What Locals Say, our guide to neighbors’ insights on the places they live. You might just find your dream home among these picks—or maybe just some major inspiration.

Clifton New Jersey Trulia Most Popular April

Take a peek at the fun blue tile in the bathroom. See more photos here.

The “New York Times” described Clifton as a place “where a lot of little worlds commingle,” and a statistical analysis backs that up. It’s one of the most diverse cities in the U.S., with high levels of cultural, socioeconomic, and religious diversity. Unsurprisingly, that leads to an eclectic mix of businesses on Main Avenue, Clifton’s downtown, with restaurants featuring cuisines that range from Lebanese to Mexican to Peruvian. However, everyone agrees that the quintessential Clifton culinary experience is a stop at Rutt’s Hut, a hot dog place that started as a roadside stand in 1928. Their practice of deep-frying hot dogs until the casings split gives the dogs their signature name: “The Ripper.”

It’s hard to not fall for the grand, brick steps leading from the street up to the front door of this lovely 1950 colonial, and the interior has charm to match. The ample counter space in the kitchen begs for a home chef, and the finished basement is a big plus, too.

This idyllic, all-American home even has a white-picket fence. See more info here.

New York doesn’t lack for amazing places to live, of course. But in 2017, “Money” magazine ranked Valley Stream the best place to live in the whole state. It’s all about location. You’re close to JFK International Airport, and a 45-minute drive or train ride from Manhattan, but you’re still in a quiet, family-filled community. One long-time resident says, “The schools, state parks, recreation facilities, utilities, sanitation services are exemplary.”1 The community is very diverse, with large African-American, Latino, and Asian populations. Valley Stream has also left a particularly delicious mark on the rest of the country: this is the city where Snapple was created and founded in 1972.

This stately and spacious colonial is the perfect place to call home in Valley Stream. With four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a patio, there’s plenty of room to relax whether you commute to the Big Apple or keep it closer to home.
