Meghan Markle’s Former Los Angeles Abode Still Seeking A Buyer—Take A Look Inside

Back when Meghan Markle was working as an actor in Los Angeles, and before all the drama of this past week when she and husband Prince Harry decided to step away from their royal duties, she and her first husband Trevor Engelson lived in this four-bedroom, three-bath home in Los Angeles’ Hancock Park neighborhood.

The home went on the market last summer for $1.79 million and came down in price slightly to $1.75 million where it is still hoping to find a buyer. It has had the same owner since 2007, but Markle and Engleson reportedly lived there from 2011 to 2013 (roughly the same timeframe as their brief 18-month marriage) so it appears they were renters during their time there.

This colonial on-the-outside, but very California open-plan on the inside measures 2,262 square feet of living space on an 8,000-square-foot lot. Indoors, the wood floors have a slightly rustic feel, which is one link back to its 1924-era origins.

The lower level solves the problem of safety while also letting in plenty of natural light with these decorative iron window features that make it hard to climb through the window.

As this view of the lower level shows it relies on recessed lighting, unifying paint color and barely there moldings to make the space flow well.

The kitchen has a galley-style plan where all the work happens, but a small open eating area that looks out onto the patio at the other end.

Upstairs here is one of the bedrooms, with an attached bath.

We see more of its 1920s feel with vintage floor tiles and Art Deco style mirrors against a herringbone accent wall.
