Perhaps the only thing harder to come by than a free car is a private driveway in New York City. The remaining three townhouses in this new development in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn have both. They’re part of a 22-townhouse project called King & Sullivan and with only three homes left the sales team have come up with a way to encourage buyers to come out of the woodwork and sign on the dotted line. The first buyer to close on any one of the remaining townhouses will get a free hybrid MINI Countryman with a suggested retail price of $46,500. The preliminary paperwork has already been completed with the Manhattan MINI dealership so it will transfer seamlessly as part of the sale.

The new homes, all designed by architecture firm AA Studio, are all four-bedroom, three-bath attached townhouses with 10-foot ceilings on each of the four floors. Developers designed everything to bring in as much natural light as possible, so they all have an 8-foot skylight and floor-to-ceiling windows in most of the rooms. They each have a backyard and a rooftop terrace which has views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Two of the homes are priced at $2.545 million and the third is $2.495 million. Here’s the living room on the first level which shows the 7-inch white oak flooring throughout the homes.

There are only about twenty homes on the market in Red Hook at the moment. All but one of them have prices at $1.5 million or higher (the outlier is a one-bedroom, one-bath condo for $750,000). At the top there are a few homes just under $3 million, some with waterfront, so these three townhouses seem right in the middle of the bell curve for the neighborhood. According to data from Redfin, homes have been selling for under list price lately and only two homes have sold here in the last two months.

Since it is all new construction everything is showroom-ready. The kitchens have Dada cabinets and a Carrara marble island with enough seating for five. Appliances are Bosch and Thermador and the fridge/freezer are designed to blend in with the rest of the cabinetry. The staircase is made from steel and white oak on each of the four floors leading all the way up to the skylight on the uppermost level.

Just beyond the kitchen is the living room with French doors that walk out to the backyard. Here’s the gas fireplace between two recessed portions of the wall to allow space for built-ins or shelving to be added.

The floor-to-ceiling windows in the master bedroom have an industrial feel to them. Several of the square windows open to let in fresh air.

All the units have private outdoor space as well. Here’s the grass backyard with a raised deck behind the house.
