Asking $33 million on the Turks & Caicos

Actor Bruce Willis and wife Emma Heming are shedding their East Coast life to become full California transplants. They have already listed a 22-acre retreat an hour from Manhattan, initially for $13 million but the price has come down to $9.5 million. Now another of their properties is on the market, still technically in the East Coast time zone but much further south. Located in the very private Parrot Cay island within the Turks and Caicos, the seven-acre property would beat all other local sales if it sells for $33 million. The current record holder is a $27.5 million sale nearby, as the Wall Street Journal reported. With only about a dozen properties on the island and one luxury hotel resort it is one of the most private getaways you can find and still be close to the U.S. mainland.

Willis’ estate contains a main house with five bedrooms, two three-bedroom guest houses and two casitas that could also accommodate guests. A total of 14 bathrooms including one with a hidden outdoor shower, are spread throughout the buildings on the estate. The property also has 1,120 feet of beach access, beach volleyball court, pool, indoor home theater and local fruit trees of coconut and papaya.

The living room opens out to the dining area on the deck. Here, the square columns on the exterior follow the same proportions as the wide beams across the ceilings. Wood walls, painted a bright white, find the balance between feeling like an exterior space and an interior one.

The kitchen has all modern appliances and a walkout to the deck. A full wall of subway tile almost makes it feel like a New York kitchen.

Near the living room is a larger space for an open dining room. The far end of the room opens out to the yard to create indoor/outdoor entertaining space.

The master bedroom has dramatic ceilings and doors to the outside at either end of the room. The entrance to the private porch is visible behind the bed in this room and, not pictured, is the door to the deck overlooking the beach at the other side of the room.

Another of the bedrooms shows off the peaked ceiling design of the living spaces inside the house.

The children’s playground even includes a wooden pirate ship, a nod to the folklore of the island that suggests pirate Anne Bonney stayed here sometime during her reign on the high seas.

Ownership comes with full access to the award-winning COMO Shambhala Spa. The couple said in a statement,”What’s also a huge benefit is having access to the hotel amenities. From the spa to the gym and restaurants. The hotel management and staff have always taken such great care of not only us but our property for the past 20 years. They have always gone above and beyond the call of duty for us and we’ll miss their warmth.”
