The Hamptons housing market is gearing up for a new summer season and included in it are several homes that aim to surpass last year’s most expensive sale.

Closing at $40 million, 290 Further Lane in East Hampton took the top spot in Long Island’s celebrity-studded east end in 2018.

Overall prices on the southern fork are dropping, according to a market report from Douglas Elliman, however. The median sales price in the first quarter of this year was $850,000, down from $995,000 in the fourth quarter of 2018 and $899,000 in the first, the firm found.

The brokerage’s sales volume also fell, to 297 from 360 in the fourth quarter of 2018 and 368 in the first.

Despite the declining numbers, however, several home sellers are still seeking top-dollar for their listings. Here’s a look at the top five most expensive Hamptons homes available on the listings site Out East:

More of a compound than a home, this expansive property is located on what is known as the “Billionaire’s Row” of the Hamptons. It boasts a 12,000-square-foot main house, 12 beds and baths, and both indoor and outdoor pools. Its 14 acres stretch from the ocean to the bay, providing access to both Hamptons waterfronts. Its amenities include two golfing greens, tennis courts, with smaller houses designated for each hobby. Listed through Sotheby’s, it’s been on the market since February 2018 with no price drops so far.

Up the street is a more modest 11,000-square-foot home with nine beds and 12½ baths on roughly 3 acres of oceanfront property. The house features multiple stories of floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a 2,872-square-foot marble patio overlooking its gunite infinity pool. Among its other features are a six-car garage, plus outdoor parking for another 10 vehicles, and a tennis court. It was put on the market for $49 million in January 2018, before its listing broker Saunders & Associates, based in Bridgehampton, seemingly thought better of it and raised the price a month later.

Over in Bridgehampton, in a listing so exclusive its address is not available to the public, is this 10-bed, 10-bath estate that, though it may not be on the waterfront, comes with its own baseball diamond, along with a tree house, tennis court and gunite pool. The main house has three levels accessible via an elevator, with everything from a spa to a media room, a music recording studio and a skateboarding half-pipe in the basement. It’s been on and off the market since February 2018, first for $43.5 million, and is currently available through Bespoke Real Estate in Watermill.

Taking us back to Meadow Lane is this six-bed, nine-bath mansion on three acres. While its 535 feet of waterfront space is along the ocean to the front of the house, for those who also want to enjoy the Shinecock Bay, the property has a private dock back there too. The home is accessible through a circle driveway and its gunite pool is located within its expansive deck. Listed through Sotheby’s, it was first posted in April 2017 and its price, for those shopping for a deal, has since been reduced from $53.5 million.
